Our ‘business-led’ ethos gives students a headstart
WMG Academy aims to send students into the world with a professional attitude, an understanding of business and a mature approach to work.
In fact, our Ofsted report commented that ‘Pupils are well prepared for their next stages in education and for life in modern Britain’.
Our ‘business-like, business-led’ ethos gives students a headstart, with 100% of students leaving the academy with a university place, work or higher level apprenticeship. Employers pay for apprentices to study and work, with many commanding generous starting salaries in secure industries.
Studying at WMG Academy is not only about practical experience in our state-of-the-art workshop – it’s also about gaining academic qualifications with an understanding of how these link to life in the real world.
Our BTEC subjects in Engineering, Business Studies and Product Design sit nicely alongside traditional GCSEs and A Levels such as English and maths, with particular focus on science and its application.
Through our links with the University of Warwick and businesses, students are exposed to ongoing opportunities for business visits, careers events, work experience and visits from experts to help guide them into adulthood.
Everything, from the business dress code, the longer working day and the high expectations give WMG Academy students the edge when they move on to higher education or work.
