Hot Weather Update – Wednesday 24th June to Friday 26th June
As we navigate the extreme temperatures this week, our primary focus remains the safety and well-being of both our students and staff. We are constantly monitoring the temperature inside the school building, and as a result, we are implementing the following adjustments for the rest of the week.
Please review the arrangements below carefully to see how your specific classes and supervision duties are affected:
Year 12 Arrangements
-
Remote Learning: Year 12 will be working from home on both Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure that work is set promptly for your classes on Google Classroom.
-
Electronics / Engineering Exam (Thursday): Please note that Year 12 Electronics and Engineering students will be on-site for their exams. John has amended the invigilation schedule to reflect these changes
Year 10 Arrangements
-
Normal Start: Year 10 students will arrive at the usual time on both days.
-
Rooming: To keep everyone as comfortable as possible, all Year 10 lessons will be relocated to air-conditioned rooms. Please check your updated rooming schedule on arrival.
-
Early Dismissal: Year 10 will be permitted to leave site at lunchtime for the rest of the week so they can avoid travelling during the peak heat.
-
Canteen: The canteen will run as normal so students can grab food before they depart.
-
Thursday Chemistry Exam Change: The Year 10 Chemistry exam previously scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday has been brought forward to 11:30 AM. John has amended the invigilation schedule to reflect these changes
-
RO39 Engineering Design: The final completion session on Thursday afternoon is postponed and will be rescheduled.
-
Hydration: Students will have access to water at the Admin Office, but are encouraged to bring in their own water bottles.
Provision for Students Remaining On-Site
-
We have informed parents that students are welcome to stay on site until the end of the normal school day if it is easier or better for their families. Myself, Gareth and Simon will oversee this.
Thank you all for your incredible flexibility, hard work, and dedication to keeping our community safe and comfortable during this heatwave.
