On the 26th of March, a selection of students from Year 10 through to Year 13 travelled to the Warwick University Sports Hub to take part in the Annual WMG Table Tennis Competition.
The tournament featured four groups of five players, with each match played head-to-head to 11 points. The top two players from each group advanced to the quarter-finals, followed by semi-finals and a final match played as a best-of-three sets.
All participants delivered outstanding performances, with particular recognition going to Year 11 student Fifi Zontek, who impressed by reaching the semi-finals. The final saw two unbeaten players go head-to-head: Alex (Year 13) and Nihal (Year 12). In a high-quality match, Alex secured the victory with a final score of 11–6, 11–5.
The atmosphere throughout the day was full of enthusiasm and sportsmanship, with students displaying the core values we champion at WMG Academy. We now look forward to the next WMG Tournament—badminton—which will take place after the Easter holidays. Congratulations to everyone involved!
