WMG Academy student Alexis Griffin has won an award for her achievements as a female engineer.
The 16-year-old won the Rising Star in Secondary Education award at the Women Who… Awards at a ceremony at Coombe Abbey near Coventry.
Alexis, a Year 11 student at WMG Academy Coventry, received the accolade in recognition of her success in a male-dominated industry.
She was recently selected from 60,000 applicants for an apprenticeship in the aerospace division of Rolls-Royce, and was also offered an apprenticeship with luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin.
Outside of the academy, Alexis is a Sergeant in the Royal Air Force Cadets.
The Woman Who… Awards celebrate the achievements of women in business, social enterprises, charities and education.
The ceremony at Coombe Abbey was hosted by BBC presenter Dave Sharpe and former BBC TV political correspondent Louise Stewart, with guest speakers Holly Matthews, Emma Heathcote-James and Fleur Sexton.
