Our students are what make the academy tick
From the moment they step into the academy our students are treated like young adults and expected to behave as such.
The longer academy day (8:30am – 16:30) mimics a work day and students are expected to dress in business wear and behave in a mature manner – just like a real workplace.
Real world
WMG Academy students work with real businesses throughout their time at the academy and are exposed to opportunities of work placements, business visits and project work set by companies.
Unlike many schools, students at WMG Academy are allowed to use mobile phones (unless instructed otherwise by a teacher). we embrace modern technology and see it as a useful tool to enable research, learning and communication.
They are also offered a range of ‘enrichment’ activities including car building, martial arts, public speaking, business skills and fitness.
Students have access to the academy’s state-of-the-art engineering hall, Computer-Aided Design suite and a range of technologies.
Life skills
During their time here, students will learn the skills to make a success of themselves in the world of work and all our students are expected to secure apprenticeships, university places or work on leaving, with tailored help from tutors and careers staff.
