West Midlands Mayor Andy Street visited WMG Academy Coventry today (10th December) to take a tour, meet students and find out how the academy became the top sixth form in Coventry in less than five years.
Mr Street saw lessons in action, including product design, computer science and art and chatted to students about their experience at the academy.
He said: “I’m very struck by the positivity of the students who are happy here and have made a conscious decision to come here to help them in the future.
“It’s incredibly important to the future of the city that we have people coming through with these qualifications and the right background. I’m interested to see the future talent of the West Midlands.”
